![]() That was a killer punch, and he's been dishing them out the whole fight. ![]() Dixon's expression when Rocko gets back up only adds to the moment. With neither of his most important anchors around anymore, he finally found it in himself to see the fight through to the end. As the fight goes on, Rocky gets some motivation from Mickey's voice, and a vision of Adrian further on but the one that really hits home when he takes an especially hard blow from Mason and for the first time picks himself up by remembering his own words to his son.And when that time comes and you find something standing if front of you, something that ain't running and ain't backin' up and is hittin' on you and you're too damn tired to breathe? You find that situation on you, that good, cuz that's baptism under fire! Oh you get through that and you find the only kind of respect that matters in this damn world. Martin: There's always somebody out there. When Mason first comes back to his gym late at night, the old trainer imparts some knowledge that seems to echo across every hard-fought fight of the series. Martin barely gets any time onscreen but is clearly a font of wisdom about boxing, much like Duke Evers.Win or Lose, the old trainer knew that Dixon testing his limits was what really mattered. Martin is also briefly seen after the fight joyfully congratulating his fighter on finding that well of determination and endurance he'd prophesized Dixon needed before.Give the man a little respect!" Props to a corner-man who actually recognizes the gravity of the situation his boxer is in and respects Rocky for the legendary boxer he is. Listen to me! If there's any bone in your body he can break, he's gonna do it. After Rocky starts to truly hurt Mason in the first round with a combination of head shots, Mason's trainer Martin is the only one to give him a reality check: "Yeah, well he came to battle, okay?.THAT'S HOW WINNING'S DONE! Now if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what's worth! But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be 'cause of him, her, or anybody! COWARDS DO THAT AND THAT AIN'T YOU! YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT! But it ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can GET hit and keep moving forward, how much you can TAKE and keep moving forward. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. ![]() It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will BEAT you to your knees and KEEP you there permanently if you let it. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. Rocky: Let me tell you something you already know. ![]()
